All Change At The Top Of North West Women’s Regional Football Leagues

The top of the North West Women’s Regional Leagues is heating up as the lead at the top of the leagues tightens up.

It is new leaders for the Premier Division as Curzon Ashton take over at the top after the matches on January 22.

Then leaders FC United were away to Crewe Alexandra who held them to a 2-2 draw, as Curzon Ashton beat Mossley Hills 3-2 to move above and Salford City moves joint second after 1-4 at Tranmere Rovers.

On Sunday January 29 Curzon Ashton and Mossley Hills gave each other in the return fixture while Salford City host Blackburn Community knowing a win could move them back to the top.

There are two other matches on as Tranmere face Fleetwood and West Didsbury take on Crewe Alexandra.

All matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.

It is a rough Division One North as Haslingden have extend their lead at the top on January 22 with a 3-3 draw away to Morecambe but Blackpool have three games in hand over the leaders.

In the first Cumbrian derby of 2023 Penrith sent Workington Reds away with a 4-0 defeat and Chorley’s match with Sir Tom Finney was postponed along with Bolton Wanderers trip to Penwortham Town.

Just the two games on January 29 as Accrington Stanley host Bolton Wanderers and Penrith travel to Penwortham Town.

All fixtures are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.

There are now joint leaders in Division One South as third placed Poulton Vics held now joint leaders Runcorn Linnets to a 3-3 draw on January 22.

In the other match Chester moved up to fifth with an 8-3 win over Alder.

The top three are in action on January 29 as the joint leaders face off with Bury welcoming Runcorn with Poulton Vics hosting Warrington Wolves.

Both matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.
