The Lancashire FA Women’s County League provided plenty of surprises at the top and bottom of the divisions.
There was just the one game in Division One on January 15 as Chipping moved joint top with Whitehaven after a 8-2 win over St. Annes.
Whitehaven’s trip to Blackpool Town, and Cadley’s game with Lancaster City were both postponed.
There is just the one game on January 22 as Blackpool face Kendal Town.

Division One South/East kicked off 2023 on January 15 as second placed Euxton closed the gap to the top with a 7-2 win over Astley Bridge and Clitheroe Wolves were beaten 1-3 Lostock St Gerards.
League leaders Horwich St. Mary’s match with Darwen FC was postponed.
Three games on January 22 as Bury FC host Darwen FC, Clitheroe welcome Horwich St. Mary’s and Euxton face Penwortham.

In the game in the Premier Division on January 15 Stanwix Juniors picked up a 2-1 win over Burnley as Accrington Stanley and Darwen FC will have to reschedule after their match was postponed.
The Premier division takes a break this weekend before returning on January 29.

In the Championship Blackpool and Bolton Wanderers closed the gap on the league leaders GT7 on January 15.
Third placed Bolton got the better of a five goal thriller against GT7 coming away with a 2-3 win as Blackpool put six past Preston North End in a 6-3 win.
Euxton and Blackburn Community were involved in the high scoring game as Euxton ran out 8-3 winners and Morecambe lost 0-2 to Penrith AFC.
There are three games on January 22 as GT7 head to Fleetwood Town, Blackburn Community host Preston North End and Euxton face Bolton County.
