Two people have been charged in connection with an investigation into the death of a four-month-old boy from Workington.

Cumbria Police has released Reece Kelly, aged 30, of Workington, has been charged with murder and two counts of child neglect.

Georgia Wright, aged 22, of Workington, has been charged with causing or allowing a child to die and two counts of child neglect.

The charges relate to the death of a four-month-old boy who died in October 2021, and a child under the age of two. 

These criminal proceedings are live and it is extremely important that there should be no reporting, comments or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice ongoing proceedings.

Both appeared at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court this afternoon, Wednesday December 14.

Kelly was remanded in custody, while Wright was granted conditional bail.

Both will now appear at Carlisle Crown Court on Friday morning, December 16.
