Rugby Union returned with a bang as it heads towards its Christmas break and the Cumbrian sides involved will be looking to give their communities something to celebrate.
It was two defeats for Cumbria’s Regional 1 North West sides as Kendal lost 17-35 to third placed Rossendale as Kirkby Lonsdale remain bottom after a 22-54 defeat to Northwich on Saturday November 26.
League leaders Blackburn kept the gap at two points with a 33-17 win over Stockport as second placed Lymm won 43-10 against Manchester.
Fourth placed Sandbach are two points off third with a 10-44 win at Burnage and Wirral lost 21-23 to Macclesfield.
On Saturday December 3 league leaders Blackburn take on Burnage, third plays second as Rossendale face Lymm, Northwich host Macclesfield and Wirral play Manchester.
The Cumbrian sides are both away as Sandbach host Kirkby Lonsdale and Stockport welcome Kendal.

A Cumbrian derby in the Regional 2 North division on November 26 as Carlisle and Keswick couldn’t be separated with a 31-31 draw as Penrith kept the pressure on Morpeth with a 12-45 win at Consett.
Percy Park beat Aspatria 43-15 and Stockton lost 7-41 to Middlesbrough.
In the two later kickoffs Durham City lost 12-20 to Northern and leaders Morpeth made 111 against South Shields Westoe as they won 111-0.
On December 3 Keswick host Durham City, Penrith welcome Percy Park, South Shields Westoe face Consett, Stockton take on Aspatria, Morpeth play Carlisle Northern host Middlesbrough.

The two unbeaten sides the Cumbria League will meet on December 3 with the league splitting in two after Christmas.
On Saturday November 26 leaders Upper Eden made it ten from ten with a 0-52 win at Creighton while Egremont made it eight from nine with a 27-14 win over St Benedicts, the only black mark is a draw against Wigton.
Third placed Cockermouth beat Whitehaven 27-7, Hawcoat Park won 27-10 against Penrith II and Workington lost 24-53 to Wigton.
On December 3 the top two meet as Upper Eden take on Egremont with their second teams playing as well.
Wigton host second placed Cockermouth, Penrith II play Millom and Whitehaven face Creighton.
The game between Silloth and Hawcoat Park is a home win.
