Weather Does Not Stop Cumbrian Rugby Union Sides

The weather might have turned but that didn’t stop Cumbria’s rugby union sides across the three divisions.

Mixed results in Regional 1 North West Division on Saturday November 5 for the two Cumbrian sides as Kendal squeezed a 18-17 home win over Manchester as Kirby Lonsdale went down 0-77 against Macclesfield.

Blackburn came out on top with a 26-13 win over Rossendale as Lymm kept with them with a 12-32 win at Wirral.

Sandbach moved up into third with a 10-0 win against Stockport and Burnage are still second bottom after a 13-23 loss to Northwich.

This week, Saturday November 12, table toppers Blackburn travel to third placed Sandbach, second placed Lymm head to Macclesfield, Burnage host fourth placed Rossendale and Stockport face Wirral.

Kendal will be looking for back-to-back wins when they head to Northwich and Kirkby Lonsdale will be determined to get their first points at Manchester.

Another set of mixed results in Regional 2 North for the Cumbrian side involved.

In the battle of the top two on Saturday November 5 Penrith came away with a 13-17 win at top side Morpeth cutting their lead to two points.

It was happy travels for Aspatria as they left Consett with a 16-23 win but sadly Keswick could not complete hat trick of away wins losing 19-17 at South Shields Westoe.

In Cumbria Carlisle lost 7-42 to visitors Northern.

While Durham City picked up a 13-10 win over Middlesbrough as Stockton went down 15-24 to Percy Park.

On Remembrance weekend Aspatria host Durham City, Keswick welcome table toppers Morpeth, Middlesbrough take on Percy Park and Northern face Consett.

South Shields Westoe play Stockton and in what will be a bruising encounter Penrith host Carlisle.

It’s eight in a row for Upper Eden in the Cumbria League.

On November 5 Upper Eden recorded a 6-104 victory at Workington and second placed Egremont won 31-10 at home to Penrith II.

Third placed Cockermouth are two points behind Egremont after a 33-0 win over St Benedicts, Wigton suffered a 8-13 defeat to Whitehaven while Creighton and Silloth shared the spoils with a 24-24 draw.

On Saturday Upper Eden will host third placed Cockermouth while Egremont travel to Silloth.

Millom and Hawcoat Park are back in action as they face each other, St Benedicts host Creighton as Whitehaven plays Workington.
