North West Women’s Regional Football Leagues Keeps Going As Cup Action Take Centre Stage

There were limited matches in the North West Women’s Regional Leagues as cup action kicked off.

On Saturday October 16, Blackburn Community Sports Club moved into fourth with a 6-0 win at home to Wigan Athletic Ladies & Girls while Fleetwood Town Wrens closed the gap to the top with a 3-2 win over Tranmere Rovers.

In the bottom half Mossley Hill Athletic and West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC played out a 2-2 draw.

Just the one match on Sunday October 23 as Wigan Athletic take on Salford City with a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.

In the Division One North it has been two weeks since there was last league action on October 2 when Haslingden went three points clear at the top with a 3-2 win against Penwortham Town and Chorley Women picked up a 1-2 win at Morecambe to leave the hosts three points adrift at the bottom.

Three games are set to take place on Sunday October 30 with Blackpool hosting Sir Tom Finney, table toppers Haslingden face Chorley and Penwortham Town take on Morecambe.

All matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.

Alder FC, BRNESC and Poulton Vics made the most of the two weeks of limited action in Division One South.

When the pair met on October 9 Alder sent Poulton away with a 5-4 defeat as the home team moved off the bottom of the table while Runcorn Linnets moved up to second with a 4-2 win at home to BRNESC.

Alder and BRNESC faced each other a week later in October 16 with BRNESC taking the points home with a 2-3 win over the hosts.

An eleven goal thriller between Warrington Wolves Foundation and Poulton Vics went the way of the visiting Poulton as a 4-7 win moved them up to second.

On Sunday October 23 Poulton Vics are back in action hosting Runcorn Linnets while BRNESC travel to Hindley Juniors, Altrincham face Chester and Northwich Vixens host Wythenshawe Amateurs.

All matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.
