Grand Prix Explorer Pits Twenty Two French Content Creators Against Le Mans

In a historic first Alpine will be taking 22 some of the most famous French-language digital content creators and placing them in an single seater race car and they’ll compete around the famous Le Mans circuit.

Launched on the initiative of Squeezie, one of the most followed French videographers, the Grand Prix Explorer will take place on October 8.

Before this world premiere takes place the twenty-two content creators from YouTube, Twitch and Instagram were divided into eleven teams.

They were then put through their paces in five training sessions that were supervised by professionals from the French Motor Sports Federation and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest.

Before they are to make their mark on the famous 4,185 km track that hosted the French F1 Grand Prix in 1967.

The competitors had the opportunity to get to know their racing cars, namely F4s, identical to those used in the French Formula 4 Championship.

The Formula 4 Championship is the entry point for young karting prospects before aiming to move to the Formula Regional European Championship.

They would then look to move to the FIA Formula 3, Formula 2, then Formula 1.

Where the current BWT Alpine F1 duo of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon drive along with French AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly.

As a major player in motorsport, Alpine will be involved in several parts of the Grand Prix Explorer, starting with the technical plan since the twenty-two competitors will have strictly identical and equal single-seaters, including in weight.

Composed of a Mygale chassis and Alpine engines prepared by Oreca, the F4 will deliver up to 180 horsepower and reach a maximum speed of 240 km/h.

Alpine will go even more in its investment by being the only manufacturer present in F1 to sponsor a team.

Faithful to its commitment to more inclusive, the brand has chosen a mixed team formed by Djilsi and Manon Lanza, two content creators sharing the same quest for challenges and parity.

Djilsi became known for its non-conformist character and its content focused on challenges and new ways of traveling.

A fan of board culture and adrenaline, Manon Lanza has established herself with her passion and promotion of women in worlds dominated by men.

Respectively flocked from numbers 6 and 15, Manon and Djilsi will take the wheel of single-seaters wearing a livery in the colors of the brand at the Arrow A unveiled this Wednesday, September 14 in front of more than 60,000 spectators on Twitch.

The two one-day drivers will also wear the iconic Alpine logo on their helmets and suits.

Along with the competition, Alpine will hold activities open to the public, with more than 40,000 spectators expected.

Within the Village, fans will have the opportunity to discover a BWT Alpine F1 Team F1 showcar and the Alpine A110 Sastruga while a simulator will also be available at the Alpine shop.

As partner of the GP Explorer, Alpine will also provide the event’s safety car with an A110 specially customized for the event.

Several personalities from the Alpine universe will also be present, including Victor Martins, driver of the Alpine Academy who recently became FIA Formula 3 Champion, Alpine Ambassador Manu Guigou and Raphaël Astier, crowned in the FIA R-GT Cup with the Alpine A110 Rally, also Alpine Elf Endurance Team drivers Nicolas Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxiviere.

All will be behind the wheel of several A110s for Hot Laps on the Bugatti Circuit.

To see the Grand Prix Explorer on Saturday, October 8, it will be broadcast live on Squeezie’s Twitch channel.

Competitors will meet for free practice from 9:15 a.m. before qualifying in four stages from 10:15 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.

Spectators will then have the opportunity to visit the famous stands of the 24 Hours of Le Mans before the scheduled departure at 5:00 p.m.

At the end of the race, the public will be allowed on to the track for the podium ceremony.
