National Conference League Playoff Matches Go Ahead

The sporting world fell silent in respect for the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and in the National Conference League playoff games they all held a minutes silence.

In the Premier Division Siddal, who finished sixth, beat Lock Lane 4-36 to secure the first place in the elimination final.

Thatto Heath Crusaders semi final tie with Wath Brow Hornets has been rearranged for Wednesday September 14 after the visiting Hornets were caught up in delays on the M6.

There were no such problems further down the divisions as the final push for six teams is in sight.

In Division One the lower finishing Skirlaugh caused an upset as the beat Ince Rose Bridge 24-26 as the home team in the final.

Wigan St Patricks missed out on an automatic promotion place but will have another attempt after a 28-12 win over West Bowling.

The final is currently scheduled for Saturday September 17 with a 14:30 (2:30pm) kick off.

Barrow Island will have it all to do again in Division Two after missing out on promotion with a 16-30 defeat at home to Woolston Rovers, another side who finished sixth.

In their way will be Clock Face Miners after a battling 22-24 win at Normanton Knights.

The final is currently scheduled for Saturday September 17 with a 14:30 (2:30pm) kick off.

There was more Cumbrian heartbreak as Seaton Rangers, in their first season, missed out on promotion with an agonising 18-20 loss to Shaw Cross Sharks.

It was a secure victory for Oldham St Annes as they beat Bentley, also in their first season, 40-18 to secure their place in the final.
