Magnificent Seven For Barrow Raiders Ladies In Women’s Super League

Seven in a row for Barrow Raiders Ladies and joint top of the Women’s Super League.

As part of the Summer Bash the teams were playing at Headingly.

Facing Featherstone Lions, who sit in third, the match had the potential to be a difficult encounter for the Raiders.

In a close game the Raiders eased away to a 12-4 win to keep pace with the Warrington Wolves.

The two other games in Group 2 had Warrington Wolves keeping top spot top with a 0-102 win at Wakefield Trinity.

At Leigh Miners Rangers the home team ran out 50-4 winners against Castleford Tigers.

In Group 1 the 100 percent record of York City Knights fell with a 12-4 defeat to St Helens

While Leeds Rhinos beat the Huddersfield Giants 0-82.

In Group 2 of the Women’s Super League Barrow will face Bradford Bulls, Castleford Tigers, Featherstone Rovers, Wakefield Trinty and fellow new team Leigh Miners Rangers.

Like in the Mens Super League the season will end with a playoff involving the top four from each Group with the Group 2 Shield Final to be played as part of a double header with the Group 1 Grand Final.

The winners of the Shield Final will be promoted to Group 1 for 2023 with no team being relegated to Group 2.
