A damp weekend in Cumbria had games reducing overs in the Cumbria Cricket League.
In the Premier Division Carlisle moved back to the top after Cockermouth’s match away at Millom was abandoned.
Batting first at Whitehaven after losing the toss Carlisle batsmen Marc Brown made 78 and Ben Davidson reached 84 before declaring on 179.
Then Carlisle’s bowlers went to work each of the six taking wickets as they dismissed Whitehaven for 95.
At Dalton the home team were put into bat by Egremont making 127 with Joe Braund Smith making 34.
In an already reduced overs game Egremont were set a reduced target of 118 as Ollie Wilford made 24 as he went from the start of the innings to finish as the visitors scored 120 to win.
Workington won the toss and batted first making 192 with Luke Cartwright scoring 54 not out.
As the weather played up Keswick were set a reduced target with Stephen Hindmarch and Ben Sharp seeing the side home.
Only the one game survived in Division One as Cockermouth 2nd faced Hawcoat Park.
Put into bat by the home side Hawcoat Park made 186 with David Thorburn and Sam Cunningham making 44.
Again the weather played a part reducing the target to 104 from 22 sadly for Cockermouth they ran out of overs finishing on 84.
There were two abandoned games in Division Two on Saturday as Lindal Moor 2nd’s match with Dalton 2nd and Whitehaven 2nd and Haverigg 2nd both fell foul of the weather.
The surviving fixture was more of a twenty over match as Vickerstown trip to Ulverston provided win number eleven.
Winning the toss and batting first they reached 157 in 27 overs as Finley Edwards scored 71 and Brad Forristall 56 while Liam Clough took 5 for 10 runs.
In reply Ulverston were bowled out for 127 with Vickerstown bowler George Scott taking 5 for 8 runs.
At Barrow Cleator 2nd win the toss and put the home side into bat.
Barrow made 181 with Ross McMurdo making 40 and Matthew Adams falling on 49.
The weather then reduced the total to 160 from 32 overs and despite a 55 from Owen Bell Cleator finished eight runs short on 151.
