Premier Division Stars As Lead Changes Hands In The Cumbria Cricket League

The top of the Premier Division tightened up as league leaders change in Cumbria Cricket League.

End of an unbeaten run and new leaders in the Premier Division.

Carlisle’s run and stay at the top is over batting first against Cockermouth the home side were bowled out for 161 with Marc Brown scoring 83.

Cockermouth’s top five all made double figures with Matthew Sempill making 43 not out as they chased the hosts down and took top spot.

In a low scoring match Dalton won the toss and batted first reached 85 as all of Keswick’s bowlers took wickets.

Leading the chase Will Atkinson’s 41 not out helped Keswick to 86 and an eight wicket win.

Put into bat after losing the toss Millom were bowled out for 89 with Cleator’s bowlers all claiming wickets.

Despite Cameron Bell’s 26 not out at the end of the innings Cleator fell three runs short as Millom’s four bowlers all took wickets.

A high scoring game at Haverigg as Furness won the toss and batted first with Nathan Waterston carrying on his good form with a 136 not out as they made 287 with Saad Khan 50 and Sam Dutton 78 not out.

The hosts ran out of overs at 181 for 9 with Drew Postlethwaite scoring 64.

A high scoring innings set the tone of the game after Workington won the toss and batted first.

Home side Whitehaven seemed to be in with a fighting chance of a good result reducing Workington to 79 for 4 before Adam Chambers scored 65 not out with David Pearce’s 51 and Sam Bates’ 34 taking them out to 253.

In reply Whitehaven were all out for 110.

Winning the toss Egremont batted first with Javon Grosvenor scoring 62 as they reached 193 from their 50 overs.

Chasing Wigton were bowled out for 171 with Christopher Hodgson making 45 and Lewis Little not far behind with 43.
