Newlaithes have retained the Andrea Buggy Women’s League.
In the final matches played on Tuesday July 5 Newlaithes needed a point off Workington Diamonds the secure the title.
While Whitehaven AFC Ladies travelling to Vickerstown Ladies needed all three and Newlaithes to lose to force a playoff for the title.
It wasn’t to be for the West Cumbrian side as a Chelsea Norris double and Nicola Smith gave Newlaithes a 3-0 win over Workington Diamonds.
While their game at Vickerstown the home team ran out 4-0 winners.
Vickerstown have one league game left at home to Penrith AFC Ladies.
The teams will now turn their attention to the League Cup with the first match on Wednesday July 13.
Cockermouth Highfield Ladies face newly crowned Newlaithes while Whitehaven AFC host Xtreme Fitness Ladies with Workington Diamonds playing Stanwix Juniors Ladies.
Both matches are 19:15 (7:15pm) kickoff.
