Racegoers are expected to enjoy a carnival atmosphere at Cumbria’s premiere racecourse next week for Jumping July Monday.
With a busy schedule of seven races and a host of family-friendly things to do off the track too, Monday July 18 is set to be another bumper day out.
Many of the crowds will BBQ or picnic trackside, while others take advantage of the host of delicious local food and drink vendors on-site, including Cartmel’s famous Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Race Director Geraldine McKay said: “We’ve had a fantastic season so far and our visitors have been on top form helping to create the festival-style vibe that we’re known for.
“We’re expecting Monday to be no different and I’m very much looking forward to welcoming everyone through the gates for another brilliant day out.
“Owners and trainers from up and down the country have been wonderful too and Monday is sure to be an exciting day on the track as well.”
While they’re waiting for the next race, visitors can also head for the funfair and enjoy a ride on the Carousel or browse the trade stalls all of which are set within the picturesque course on the edge of the Lake District National Park.
The day will come hot on the heels of Ricky Wilson’s DJ set at the course on Saturday July 16 after the first of this month’s racedays.
Gates will open at 9am on all race days and, for those who aren’t bringing their own picnic, the Louis Roederer Restaurant will open at 11.30am.
Race times are 14.05, 14.40, 15.15, 16.20, 16.50 and 17.20.
