Last Chance For Tickets To See Kiaser Chiefs Frontman Ricky Wilson At Cartmel

Time is running out to get your tickets to see Ricky Wilson at Cartmel Racecourse.

The frontman of Kaiser Chiefs comes to south Cumbria to show off another of his many talents with an outdoor DJ set on Saturday July 16.

He tops the bill of entertainment after a full day of top-class horse racing for Jumping July Saturday at the famous racecourse on the edge of the Lake District.

He said: “I can’t wait to come to Cumbria to entertain the racegoers at Cartmel this summer.

“I won’t predict a riot but I can promise the place will be jumping. So get yourselves along.”

Ricky’s set will start between 6pm and 6.30pm and run until 7.30pm to 8pm after the seven races.

Geraldine McKay, director of racing at Cartmel Racecourse, said: “We are so delighted to welcome Ricky Wilson to our lovely racecourse this summer, another huge act following on from David Gray who was here in June.

“He will be the perfect way to finish off a day of high-quality racing here in south Cumbria. So don’t delay – get your tickets now.”

A familiar presence on television and radio, he has been a coach on The Voice UK since 2014,  winning it twice, the host of Sky’s Bring The Noise, and a presenter of BBC’s The One Show.

He had a show on Radio X from 2015 to 2017, launched a podcast with veteran DJ Tony Blackburn in 2020, and in April this year returned to Radio 2 for a second series of Rock and Roll Classics celebrating early rock and roll from the 1950 and early 1960s.

He won an APA Music Host of the Year award for the first series and his band Kaiser Chiefs haven’t been idle.

They have released seven albums since 2004, most recently Duck in 2019, and embark on a nationwide tour in November.

There is a full card of seven races on the day at 1.54pm; 2.29pm; 3.04pm; 3.34pm; 4.10pm; 4.44pm; and 5.15pm to look forward to first.
