Newlaithes Ladies And Whitehaven AFC Ladies Sit Joint Top The Andrea Buggy Women’s League

Newlaithes and Whitehaven AFC share the lead of the Andrea Buggy Women’s League.

On Wednesday June 22 Newlaithes Ladies recorded a 6-1 win over third placed Cockermouth Highfield Ladies.

A Nicola Smith hat trick with a double for Stacey Harkness-Grant and Kerri Mallinson gave Newlaithes the win.

Joint leaders Whitehaven AFC Ladies kept the pressure on Newlaithes with a 4-2 win against Stanwix Juniors Ladies.

Ashleigh Mcallister and Megan Batey shared the four goals between them with Holly Currie and Esther Attwood on target for Stanwix.

In a close game Abbeytown Ladies were edged out 2-3 by Vickerstown Ladies with Abbie Woodburn and Lucy Carr on the scoresheet for Abbeytown.

Vickerstown player of the match Alicia Trewin scored two.

A surprise victory for Allerdale Wildcats as they took a 1-0 win over Penrith AFC Ladies Rubies with Hayley Saffill scoring the only goal of the game.

An eight goal thriller between Workington Diamonds and Xtreme Fitness Ladies ended 4-4.

A double for Jessica Reid, Chloe McManus and Tiffany Lamb got the other two for Xtreme.

Only two matches on Wednesday June 29 as Vickerstown Ladies host Stanwix Juniors Ladies and Xtreme Fitness Ladies take on league leaders Newlaithes Ladies.

All matches are 19:15 (7:15pm) kickoff.
