Families are expected to flock to Cumbria’s premiere racecourse this weekend for Funday Sunday.
Sponsored by Oakmere Homes, the event at Cartmel Racecourse on Sunday June 26 will feature seven races and offer a host of fun things to do for people of all ages.
A funfair, bouncy castles and pony rides will be set within the picturesque course, as well as a DJ taking people’s requests and keeping the mood high throughout the day.
Race Director Geraldine McKay said: “Families love a day out at Cartmel and we’re expecting to have a busy and fun-filled day.
“The atmosphere on the course is always fantastic and our visitors are a big part of creating that as they’ve proved already this season.
“Not only that, but we’re looking forward to an action packed day on the track.”
There’s expected to be a carnival mood amongst racegoers with many bringing their own picnics and barbeques, while others take advantage of the delicious local food vendors on site including, of course, Cartmel’s famous Sticky Toffee Pudding.
The day will come hot on the heels of David Gray’s performance at the course on Friday June 24 as part of his rescheduled White Ladder tour.
Gates will open at 9am on all race days and, for those who aren’t bringing their own picnic, the Louis Roederer Restaurant will open at 11.30am.
Race times are 13.50, 14.20, 14.50, 15.20, 15.55, 16.30 and 17.00.
