New Gameplay Footage Revealed For The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham are thrilled to share new gameplay footage from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in an uncut, red-band trailer, at the bottom of the article.

Featuring the Slaughter Family, Leatherface and their Victims, the trailer showcases the familiar frights and sights of the original film along with a host of grisly surprises, while also sharing details on expanded platform availability and the release window.

Daniel Nixon, Director of Communications, Gun Interactive said: “Since the reveal, one of the main questions we’ve received has been ‘when will we see gameplay footage?’

“We’re fortunate to be able to celebrate this news alongside the gameplay our community has been anxious to see and bring them further details on when they can expect to get their hands on the game to experience it for themselves.

“We hope that fans are as excited for the Uncut Trailer of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre as we are to show it to them.”

For those that don’t know the story of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre the original 1974 film followed a group of friends who fall victim to a family of cannibals, The Sawyer Family, while on their way to visit an old homestead with the main killer called Leatherface.

While Leatherface, so called because he wears the face of one of his victims, kills with a chain saw he also uses any implement that comes to hand, the first victim is bludgeoned with a hammer.

It was advertised as based on a true story which is partly true, yes there was a serial killer, Ed Gein, that murdered people and made lamp shades, masks and other items out of his murder victims but he didn’t run round killing then with a chain saw.

It has most recently had a sequel on Netflix that follows on nearly 50 years from the original film with the plot following a group of “influencers looking to breathe new life into a Texas ghost town and encounter Leatherface, an infamous killer who wears a mask of human skin.”

Ismael Vicens, Executive Producer, Gun Interactive said: “The community asked, and we’re thrilled to answer that our partners at Sumo were able to create a plan to bring The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms in a way that preserves the gameplay and visual tone of the title while giving players what they have been asking for.

“It was important to us to enable every fan of the franchise to experience our vision for the game.”
