Top Of The Table Teams Unbeaten In Cumbria Cricket League And Who Made The Quarter Final Of The Higson Cup

Cumbrian cricketers are back in action as all three divisions of the Cumbria Cricket League and Higson Cup take place.

All three divisions were in action on Saturday May 21.

Top of the Premier Division Carlisle lost the toss and batted first making 185 for 9.

Then their bowlers went to work bowling Whitehaven out for 51.

Workington dropped back after Keswick set them 185 from their fifty overs and bowled them out for 118.

Cockermouth put Millom into bat with them making 161 from their 50 overs, before reaching 165 for 6.

Batting first Furness made 244 after Cleator won the toss in reply hosts Cleator were bowled out for 106.

Winning the toss Egremont put Dalton into bat bowling them out for 163 before being bowled out themselves for 129.

It came down to 3 wickets at Wigton, batting first the hosts were bowled out for 123.

Haverigg reached 127 for 7 to win by 3 wickets.

Then there was one at the top of Division One as Lindal Moor put Seascale into bat bowled them out for 68, in reply they reached 71 for 5.

In Millom 2nd’s match they win the toss and put Egremont 2nd into bat with the visitors reaching 153 for 9, it was a successful run chase for Millom as they made 154.

It was a low scoring game for Workington 2nd as they batted first being bowled out for 87 by the home side, Kirkby in Furness who were bowled out for 20 with Ben Scott taking 6 wickets.

At the bottom of the league Hawcoat Park won the toss and batted first making 227 as they were bowled out by Cockermouth 2nd.

In reply Cockermouth 2nd were bowled out for 103.

Put into bat first Ulverston were bowled out for 97 by Furness 2nd who fell short at 79 all out.

Division Two still have two at the top as Vickerstown’s match with Ulverston 2nd was conceded by the visitors while Whitehaven 2nd put the hosts into bat with Haverigg 2nd bowled out for 60 before the visitors reached 64 to win.

In Dalton 2nd match with Lindal Moor 2nd the hosts were put into bat first making 164 from their forty overs in reply Lindal Moor were bowled out for 101.

At Cleator Barrow won the toss and batted first reaching 73 as the last wicket fell, taking 17 overs Cleator 2nd lost one wicket in reaching 75.

In the final game in the first round of the Higson Cup took place on Sunday, May 22, put into bat by the visitors Egremont were bowled out for 108 and Furness reached 113 for 3 to progress.
