High Scoring Matches In Cumbria Cricket League And Higson Cup

The full weekends of Cumbrian cricket continued as all three divisions of the Cumbria Cricket League and Higson Cup took place.

All three divisions were in action on Saturday May 14 with Higson Cup action on Sunday 15.

In the Premier Division leaders Carlisle stay 6 points clear after beating Cleator.

Winning the toss Carlisle batted first reaching 251 for 8 off their fifty overs, Cleator were bowled out for 120.

Workington are second after winning away to Dalton, batting first the hosts were bowled out 133 before the visitors reached 134 for 4.

Dropping to sixth after being bowled out chasing 166 Keswick lost by 4 runs to Furness.

Moving up a place to third Cockermouth bowled Haverigg out for 98 before chasing it down in 28 overs.

All ten wickets fell as Millom got over the line by 27 runs against Egremont as they were bowled for 110.

Batting first Whitehaven were bowled out for 155 before bowling Wigton out for 136 to win by 19 runs.

Five became two at the top of Division One as Egremont 2nd lost to Lindal Moor.

Batting first Egremont 2nd were bowled out for 127 as Lindal Moor reached 131 for 4.

After being put into bat Seascale reached 205 for 7 as they bowled Cockermouth 2nd out for 148.

Winning the toss Furness 2nd batted first they made 188 for 9 from their fifty overs in reply Kirkby in Furness reached 106 as their last wicket fell.

Workington 2nd batted first reached 150 all out before bowling Millom 2nd for 102.

Hawcoat Park fell two runs short against Ulverston.

After bowling Ulverston out for 140 Hawcoat Park fell short with overs left as their last wicket fell on 138.

In Division Two three games were played with Lindal Moor 2nd losing to Vickerstown.

Batting first Vickerstown made 192 all out before removing the last Lindal Moor 2nd batsman with the team on 59.

In a high scoring innings Whitehaven 2nd made 249 for 4 with Jason Spires on 95 at the end.

In reply Ulverston 2nd were bowled out for 40.

On Sunday May 15 Barrow made 120 all out before Haverigg 2nd ran out of overs on 101 for seven.

Dalton 2nd game with Cleator 2nd was postponed on Sunday 15.

In the Higson Cup on Sunday, May 15, Carlisle progressed chasing down Haverigg’s 123 while Cockermouth made it into the next round after making 276 for 7 as Keswick came up short on 191.
