Whitehaven AFC Ladies Retake Top Spot In Andrea Buggy Women’s League

It is all change at the top of the Andrea Buggy Women’s League as Whitehaven AFC Ladies retake pole position.

On Wednesday May 11 there were three high scoring games.

At Penrith AFC Ladies they recorded a 4-3 win against Cockermouth Highfield with a Sarah Smith hat-trick and Lillie Dixon to much for Cockermouth.

In another tight high scoring game Workington Diamonds were beaten 4-5 by Abbeytown with Trudy Donald, Hannah Wilson, Lucy Carr and a double from Abbie Woodburn securing the points for Abbeytown.

In a game of two halves Allerdale Wildcats were 0-5 down at half time but won the second half as they lost 2-6 to Whitehaven AFC with Holly New, Holly Laing, Megan Batey and a Ashleigh Mcallister double doing the business for Whitehaven.

The match between Vickerstown and Stanwix was postponed.

This Wednesday May 18 Allerdale Wildcats face Newlaithes with Carol Thomas in attendance.

Kendal United Ladies host Workington Diamonds, Penrith AFC play Stanwix, Vickerstown face Xtreme Fitness while Whitehaven AFC host Abbeytown.

All matches are 19:15 (7:15pm) kickoff.
