Carlisle Go Top Of Cumbria Cricket League As Dalton Advance In Vigodny Cup

Plenty of wickets fell across the divisions as all three Cumbria Cricket Leagues were in action with Carlisle going top of the Premier Division.

All games were played across the three leagues on Saturday May 7.

In the Premier Division Carlisle went top after setting Dalton 257 and then bowling them out for 54.

Bating first after winning the toss Millom were dismissed for 75 before Keswick took 17 overs to reach 77.

In another low scoring game Workington were bowled out for 95 and in reply Wigton almost went the same way reaching 96 for 8 wickets.

Egremont and Cockermouth played out a similar game with the hosts being bowled out for 95 but the visitors reached 96 for the loss of no wickets.

Continuing the wicket taking trend of the day Cleator were bowled out by Haverigg for 185 and Cleator bowled Haverigg out for 102.

After last weeks weather effected match Furness reached 261 for 6 from their overs.

In reply Whitehaven were bowled out for 105.

It’s a five way tie for top in Division One as it gets under way.

Top of the pile are Egremont 2nd after beating Cockermouth 2nd by three runs as both sides were bowled out for 100.

Batting first Kirkby in Furness made 137 before being bowled out in reply Ulverston were bowled out for 51.

Lindal Moor reached 249 as Furness 2nd bowled them out before being dismissed for 61 themselves.

Seascale won the toss and put Workington 2nd into bat and bowled them out for 101 before taking 28 overs to make 104 to win.

In a low scoring game Millom 2nd got the better of Hawcoat Park bowling the visitors out for 49 before reaching 51 in 14 overs.

In Division Two there were only two games as Dalton 2nd and Barrow was postponed and Ulverston 2nd conceded their match with Vickerstown.

In Haverigg 2nd match with Cleator 2nd it was all over within 30 overs as Cleator were bowled out for 28 and Haverigg need just 10 to make 30.

Whitehaven 2nd put Lindal Moor 2nd into bat and bowled the visitors out for 62 before taking 14 over to reach 63.

In the Vigodny Cup the game between Dalton 2nd and Haverigg 2nd the hosts were bowled out for 137 before restricting the visitors to 110 for 8 to progress to the next round on Sunday May 8.
