The future is looking bright for Egremont Rugby Union after the Colts team win regional final.
The team played in the North East and Cumbria Colts competition which is split into four league which then leads to a playoff and final.
Ian Marr said: “Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents of this fantastic group of young people.
“Their dedication, high quality coaching and their parents support has enable the them to develop into great individual players and a great team.
“In the space of a week Naomi Brennan captained Hartpury Ladies to win the RFU National AASE League and our Colts won the North East and Cumbria league.
“They’ve come a long long way since the U12 Tynedale Rugby Festival.”
Drawn into Conference C Egremont faces four teams from the North East, Sunderland, Ponteland, Middlesbrough and Stockton along with Darlington.
Of the ten games played only Sunderland and Ponteland beat the Egremont team as they went on to record eight wins with two defeats as they sealed the Conference title.
Heading into the playoffs they faced Horden and Peterlee of Conference D and in a tight match made it through to face Redcar in the Final.
Playing the final at Darlington Egremont came away with a 38-23 win.
