Shock And Awe In Round Five Of The National Conference Leagues

Shocks and records fell in the fifth round of rugby leagues National Conference League.

On a cold but sunny Saturday, April 2, only two teams finished the day with undefeated records.

One of those are West Hull in the Premier Division with four wins and a draw they sit top of the table after a 52 point win against Egremont Rangers.

Wath Brow Hornets suffered their first defeat at Siddal going down 24-16 as they are over taken by the hosts in the league.

Lock Lane jump to second in a high scoring game at Leigh Miners Rangers with a 24-38 win.

In the battle at the bottom Thornhill Trojans came away with the points with a 10-18 win away at York Acorn.

Thatto Heath Crusaders came out on top in a close game against Pilkington Recs with a 14-18 win while Rochdale Mayfield were beaten by Hunslet Club Parkside 18-22.

Division One leaders Oulton Raiders suffered their first defeat to Kells with a 38-18 score line.

Stanningley and Wigan St Patricks are the new league leader with victory on the road.

Ince Bridge Rose move up to third after a 32-12 victory over Saddleworth Rangers while Myton Warriors lost a close 30-28 at Skirlaugh with Hull Dockers beating West Bowling 30-10.

Crosfields are joined by Barrow Island and Clock Face Miners at the top of Division Two.

Clock Face Miners sit top after beating Bradford Dudley Hill 16-18, Crosfields are second after a 30-8 defeat to Heworth and Barrow Island are third after beat Normanton Knights 28-24.

Woolston Rovers were beaten 24-18 by Dewsbury Moor Maroons.

Beverley picked up their first win against Dewsbury Celtic while Hunslet Warriors over came Wigan St Judes in a low scoring game.

Leeds East are the only side in the four divisions to have a 100 percent win record after beating Leigh East.

Seaton Rangers were beaten 26-18 by Oldham St Annes while Shaw Cross Sharks lost to Waterhead Warriors 14-40 as six clubs sit joint second.

Eastmoor Dragons picked up a draw with Bentley while Millom played out the highest scoring game of the day in a 70-34 defeat to Drighlington.

Also beaten on the road Hensingham lost 30-12 away to Batley Boys.
