Cumbria Police Arrest Three People After Carlisle Stabbing Investigation

Three people have been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into a reported stabbing which occurred in Carlisle.

Cumbria Police was contacted shortly before 2.10am yesterday, Saturday June 26, with a report that a man had been stabbed near the KFC restaurant on London Road.

This lead to a 28-year-old man, from Carlisle, received hospital treatment at the Cumberland Infirmary and was discharged the same day.

Following investigation a 32-year-old man, from Carlisle, has been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH with intent.

Two women from the Carlisle area, aged 27 and 23 respectively, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three remain in police custody detained for questioning.
