A body has been found following a multi-agency search operation on the river Eden, near Lazonby, Cumbria Police confirmed.

Officers received a report of concern for the welfare and that a man fell into the water while out in a boat at 3.21pm yesterday, Saturday April 3.

In response the North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, the Coastguard, mountain rescuers and specialist police divers were also deployed in the operation.

The body of a man was found at around 8.45pm yesterday, however formal identification has not yet taken place.
