Three Men Charged As Part Of Attempted Murder Investigation In Carlisle

Three men have been charged as part of an attempted murder investigation in Carlisle.

All three men are scheduled to appear at North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday February 10.

Viorel Pricope, 24, of Warwick Square, Carlisle, has been charged with attempted murder, affray, possession of a bladed article, perverting the course of justice and two counts of assault by beating.

Fernando Haliga, 23, of St Nicholas Street, Carlisle, has been charged with affray, possession of an offensive weapon and perverting the course of justice.

Costel-Mihaita Puiu, 25, of Warwick Square, Carlisle has been charged with affray.

The charges relate to an incident that occurred inside a property on Warwick Square, Carlisle, on Saturday, February 6, shortly after 9.30pm.

A 38-year-old man was injured during the incident – he was taken to hospital with a stab wound and his condition is described as critical but stable.
