Christmas Tree Take Pride Of Place At Penrith Town Hall

Eden District Council has taken delivery of a 27ft Spruce Christmas tree, which it’s hoped will help spread a little festive cheer.

Penrith Town Hall

The tree was donated by local forestry specialists, A.W. Jenkinson and will stand outside the council’s Town Hall offices in Penrith for the duration of the festive period.

Council Chairman, Cllr. Andrew Connell, said: “I’d like to thank A.W. Jenkinson for so generously donating yet another magnificent tree to help us mark the festive season.

“This has been a difficult year for all of Eden’s residents, which makes the celebrations we have over the Christmas period, including Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice and New Year’s Eve, especially important and poignant.

“Thanks must also go to AMEY for helping make the tree look its glitteringly glorious best with its bright white lights. On behalf of Eden District Council, I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in Eden a very happy Christmas and festive season.”
