Celebrations are taking place as Lakes College is reaccredited to the matrix Standard which demonstrates the high quality of information, advice and guidance services they provide.
The Lillyhall-based college employs more than 200 staffand educates thousands of students in a range of courses including further and higher education, adult skills, apprenticeships and distance learning.
The matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG), either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering.
Both staff and students at the college were interviewed about the services on offer to determine whether standards were met.
Daniel Braithwaite, assistant principal at the college said: “At Lakes College we pride ourselves on our information, advice and guidance service that we provide to all young people and adults entering further education.
“To once again achieve the matrix Standard is a terrific example of how we strive to be the best we can and support everyone who is involved with Lakes College.
“Our team are constantly optimising the ways in which students and staff are provided with advice and guidance, and this is a testament to the time and dedication that’s been spent doing so.”
Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Lakes College and I would like to congratulate the team on their success.
“We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available.
“The matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, Lakes College is working to provide the best possible support to their clients.”
