Cumbrian Football Teams Fixtures Revealed For 2020/21 Season

As football fans all over the country breath a sigh of relief that they will be able to return to the stands, they’ll be now looking to see who they could be facing when they do.

Club football won’t be restarting with league action but with cup ties.

In the EFL Trophy Carlisle United will host Fleetwood Town on September 1, while Barrow travel to Blackpool on September 8.

The Carabao Cup has Barrow traveling to Derby County and Carlisle away at Oldham Athletic on September 5.

Cumbria’s got two football league sides now with Barrow gaining promotion after COVID-19 stopped so many teams promotions bids.

Barrow will open their season at home to Stevenage while Carlisle travel to Cambridge United on September 12.

The two will meet at Brunton Park on October 3 with the return fixture on April 10.

Ian Evatt will return to Holker Street with his new side Bolton Wanderers on October 20.

Carlisle will finish the season on May 8, with a home game against Walsall as Barrow travel to Exeter City.

In the Premier North/West Division Workington Reds and Kendal Town will also start with cup football as the Emirates FA Cup preliminary rounds has Workington travelling to either Glasshaughton or Knaresborough while Kendal will host either Bishop Auckland or Hall Road Rangers on September 12.

The pair open their league campaigns a week later on September 19 as Kendal travel to Prescot Cables while Workington visit Pickering Town.

Kendal will host Workington on October 13 with the reverse fixture on January 30.

Both sides will finish on May 8 with home games as Workington face Colne with Kendal hosting Trafford.

In the Northern Football League Division One Penrith AFC will start by welcoming Whitley Bay on September 5 and finish the season at home to Stockton Town on April 24.

Carlisle City will kick off life in the Northern Football League Division Two with an away trip to Heaton Stannington on September 5 and face Ryton & Crawcrook Albion at home on April 24 to bring the season to a close.

In the Buildbase FA Vase Carlisle City will host Nelson, Harrogate Railway Athletic welcome Cleator Moor Celtic, Holker Old Boys will face Eccelshill United and Penrith will travel to West Allotment Celtic on September 19.
