Although Rosehill Theatre and The Green Room restaurant remain closed due to COVID-19, new projects are underway to get staff back to work.
The Green Room To Go and drive-in performances will be the first steps made for the venue to return to a ‘new-normal’.
Launching next week is The Green Room To Go, customers will be able to order online between Monday and Wednesday from the restaurants two-course menu.
The food is then prepared and cooked by The Green Room chefs and packaged for customers to collect on their choice of Friday or Saturday – complete with instructions to heat, as necessary, and serve at home.
The menu will change regularly and expand as time goes on.
Also launching next week is the drive-in performances, first up featuring Steve Wharton.
Steve is a Cumbrian storyteller and performer, who, for 30 minutes, will be giving a family-fun performance in the car park while attendees view from the comfort of their car with sound broadcast to the car’s FM radio.
A statement on the Rosehill website read: “We’re exploring a number of other new ways to reach our audiences. For example, once guidelines allow us to do so we’re looking to present concerts in the auditorium to a distanced audience that will be recorded and streamed over the internet for people to watch at home.
“Digital technology has made it more possible than ever to connect with audiences in a different way and we’re also looking at how we can make our performances available to schools, hospitals and care homes if possible.
“In addition, we want to hear about people’s experiences of the pandemic and are developing a community storytelling project.
“We are also implementing important measures to keep everyone safe. These are all new ways of working. We’re focusing on the future and learning as we go along and we hope you will continue to support us on this journey.”
but plans are developing for staff and customers to return safely – and our first two exciting new projects are about to get under way.
Details of both projects, including booking information, will be added to the Rosehill website and posted on social media early next week.
