A fire tore through the Workington night club, Fusion, last night as one person was rescued from the property.

It’s unknown at this time how or why the club on Ladies Walk was set ablaze, but it was reported at approximately 11pm on Saturday, May 30.
The fire was so demanding Carlisle East Fire Station were called in and confirmed in their live Tweets eight appliances were require to fight the blaze during its height, but it was finally under control at 5am today, Sunday, May 31.
At the height of the fire 8 appliances were in attendance.
That blaze is now under control, however the crews will be detained for some time to dampen down.
Lots of hard work prevented the serious blaze from spreading to adjoining properties.

They also confirmed one man, unknown, was rescued by fire service personnel from the property.
In a statement by Cumbria Police they confirmed residents from surrounding properties had been evacuated.
The statement read at 11.42pm: “Emergency services are currently responding to a large fire at the former Fusion nightclub building in Workington.
“Police were alerted to a fire shortly before 11pm on Saturday (30 May) at the premises on Ladies Walk.
“Nearby premises and homes on Ladies Walk and Coopers Walk have been evacuated whilst crews from Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service tackle the fire. There are no reported injuries at this time.
“Washington Street is currently closed in both directions to assist fire crews.
“A cordon is in place and members of the public are urged not to attend the scene.”
