A veteran of Cumbrian cricket has been selected for a trail with a place in the England World Cup squad on offer.
Workington Cricket Club’s Paul McKeown has been selected to take part in a trial at Loughborough University.

The trail will be taking place on Tuesday, March 24, with Paul the hope of being selected for the England Over 60’s Cricket Team.
A spokesperson for Workington Cricket Club said: “Everyone involved with Workington Cricket Club wishes Chief the best of luck for Tuesday.
“It is an achievement in itself to be selected and we are all very proud and thrilled his contributions for the Cumbria 50’s side and club have been recognised.”
He will be taking part along with existing members of the England squad and other players selected from the other Over 60’s Divisions in the country.
A squad for the World Cup in Canada in August will be selected plus a squad for the England Lions who will play some touring teams as well as Wales and Scotland will be picked from the trial day.
