He was also given an indefinite restraining order against the victim.

Callum Fox – Cumbria Police

On August 26, 2025, police received a 999-call stating a woman was in danger from her ex-partner and that Fox was attempting to break into her address in Carlisle.

Police attended and located Fox a short distance from the property and he was arrested.

Officers then learnt of an assault the previous day, on August 25, where Fox had assaulted the victim by slapping and punching her and had then thrown a number of knives at her which, fortunately, did not hit her.

Fox also held a knife to the victim’s throat stating “I’ll do it”.

In an attempt to flee from Fox, the victim moved to another room within the property, however the assault continued with Fox pinning the victim down and strangling her.

Detective Constable Ellie McCorkell from Carlisle and Wigton CID said: “The victim in this case went through a terrifying assault at the hands of Callum Fox.

“Using a knife in an assault or any amount of force to strangle someone is incredibly dangerous and could have had a potentially fatal outcome.

“I’d like to thank the victim for her bravery in coming forward and seeing the judicial process through and hope the custodial sentence given to Fox shows the severity of the harm he caused.”
