The refurbishment and development of Cleator Moor Activity Centre as part of the Cleator Moor Town Deal’s Healthy Town continues as project heads into final stretch.
The multi-million pound refurbishment of the former indoor bowling green has progressed since the closure of the building in early 2025.
With the outside of the building heading towards completion as cladding and external finishing works continue around the building.

On the inside the of building the fit out is really starting to take shape ready for Everyone Active and Cumberland Occupational and Social Centre (COSC) to move in.
The kitchen is now being installed, room finishes are progressing with fresh colours and ongoing mechanical and electrical work and plastering and partitioning are moving steadily across several areas.

New doors are also in place, helping each space feel closer to its final layout.
The former indoor bowls hall is also advancing well, with subfloor construction underway.
Structural support beams and boarding are also being fitted across the main hall.

Equipment and materials are also on-site as the team prepares for the next phase of improvements.
The Healthy Town Deal project is funded by UK Government and is being delivered thanks to support from funding partners Copeland Community Fund and Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
