St Mary’s Hospice is inviting the local community to a special Open Day in Windermere to celebrate the launch of new hospice support services in the area.

Everyone is welcome to attend, with all sessions available on a drop-in basis.

Lynsey Lawson, Head of Community Services at St Mary’s Hospice, said: “We are delighted to be bringing our services into Windermere and to welcome the community to our Open Day.

“This is an opportunity for people to find out how we can support them and their loved ones, ask questions, and connect with our friendly team in a relaxed and welcoming environment.”

The event marks the introduction of weekly dementia support groups and bereavement cafés in Windermere, expanding St Mary’s Hospice’s commitment to providing care, support and connection closer to home for individuals and families.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet members of the St Mary’s Hospice team, learn more about the new services launching locally, and find out how hospice care can support people living with serious illness, dementia, and bereavement.

Throughout the day, the hospice team will deliver short, informal talks at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm, offering insight into the new services and the wider support available from St Mary’s Hospice.

Refreshments will be available, and attendees can also learn more about volunteering opportunities within the hospice.

St Mary’s Hospice provides compassionate care and support for people affected by life-limiting illness, as well as support for families, carers and those experiencing bereavement.
