Woman in her 20s hospitalised after ‘serious injuries’ due to A5086 crash

A woman in her 20s has suffered ‘serious injuries’ after a single-car crash in West Cumbria.

At around 3am on Thursday, January 8, police responded to reports of a crash near Longlands Lake, in West Cumbria. 

The single-car crash took place on the A5086 at the Woodend junction, just after Longlands Lake, and involved a black Vauxhall Corsa.

One passenger, a woman in her 20s suffered, serious injuries and remains in hospital.

The other occupants of the vehicle were also taken to hospital with “less serious injuries”.

The road was closed for a number of hours while police carried out a forensic collision investigation.

Police have launched an appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “Anyone with any information or witnesses to the incident are asked to call 101 quoting log 17 of the 8 January. You can also call on 101.”
