First look inside Whitehaven’s £4.6 million LEVELS development

Whitehaven’s £4.6 million LEVELS immersive education, esports and entertainment centre has unveiled a first look after four years of development.

Delivered by BEC with funding from partners Sellafield Ltd and BT the former Whittles store on Duke Street, Whitehaven has been transformed into a new home for digital and gaming.

From the first public consultations in early 2021, through planning, architecture and construction, to the final stages of the technical fit-out, the centre is now ready to start rolling out Whitehaven’s digital future.

Across four floors, the centre includes immersive digital and gaming experiences, an esports arena, a studio, a cafe and interactive learning spaces.

The team from LEVELS has already began giving tasters with the first Rocket League competition being held between four teams that will compete for the building.

While at a two day event at West Lakes Science Park people and investors were shown the technology that would be used.

LEVELS will begin its public rollout over the coming weeks, and for more information, you can visit the website here.
