Penrith Town Council by-election results Liberal Democrat elected

Two Liberal Democrats have been elected to Penrith Town Council after a by-election.

The by-election for Penrith Town Council, Penrith South Ward was held on Thursday, November 27, with Alex Deacon elected with 55 percent of the vote as the Liberal Democrat’s taking the seat from Labour.

Of the traditional big three political parties only the Liberal Democrat stood a candidate with Labour and Conservative parties leaving Reform UK and the Green Party to provide opposition.

The Liberal Democrat Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron said: “Congratulations Alex on a superb triumph.”

In the other by-election for Penrith West Ward Vivo Dippita was elected unopposed.

Alex Deacon (Lib Dem) 225 (55.3 percent)
Mike Houston – Reform UK 140 (34.4 percent)
Kimberley Jane Lawson – Green Party 42 (10.7 percent)
