New Podcasting studio opened by MP in West Cumbria

A new podcasting studio has been opened by Whitehaven and Workington MP Josh MacAlister in Whitehaven.

The studio in the Colours Hub ran by Proud and Diverse Cumbria was opened with the first episode recorded on the day.

Brought about through a partnership between Axiom Consortium and Proud and Diverse Cumbria it was described as a ‘truly special day’ that will ‘give young people a voice’.

Josh MacAlister MP said: “It was a pleasure to officially open a new podcast studio to give young west Cumbrians a platform to make sure their voices are heard.

“It is fantastic to see such an inspiring project come to life here in the heart of our community.

“This new podcast studio isn’t just about technology – it’s about giving young people in West Cumbria the confidence, communication skills, and creativity they need to thrive.

“The partnership between Axiom Consortium and Proud and Diverse Cumbria’s Colours Café will show what can be achieved when we invest in opportunities that help the next generation find their voice and shape their future.”

Also attending the opening was Councillor Emma Williamson, Jenny Brumby, Gobsmacked and Assa Marra podcaster Catherine Williamson and Whitehaven Town Crier Marc Goodwin among guest from Axiom.
