Armed police deployed and five arrested after incident at Cumbria holiday resort

Armed officers were deployed and five men were arrested after an incident at a Cumbrian holiday resort.

At 3:23am, on Thursday, October 30, police responded to reports of an “ongoing assault at Solway Holiday Village, in Silloth.

The incident involved multiple people at the resort and five men were arrested on suspicion of GBH.

Police said a “number of people were injured and are being treated by medical professionals”.

However, injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Armed officers were deployed as part of the response due to the initial report.

But police have said there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

A police presence remains at the scene as police continue their enquiries.
