Great Hospice Cake Off raises over £3,000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria

The Melbreak Hotel in Workington has helped serve up a generous slice of support for Hospice at Home West Cumbria, raising an impressive £3,400.00 by taking part in the charity’s annual Great Hospice Cake Off campaign.

The event, which invited local businesses, community groups and supporters to host cake themed fundraisers.

The Melbreak Hotel pull out all the stops, with customers enjoying a delicious day of sweet treats and community spirit.

The total raised on the day was matched by the hotel itself, doubling the donation and helping the final figure reach a phenomenal £3,400.00. 

Jessica Woolaghan, Partnerships and Fundraising Coordinator at Hospice at Home West Cumbria, expressed her gratitude:  “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the amazing team at The Melbreak Hotel and to every customer who came along and supported the day.

“Your kindness and generosity mean so much to us.

“We’re especially grateful to The Melbreak for matching the total raised — it’s thanks to gestures like this that ensureswe can continue providing vital care and support across our community.”

The funds raised will go directly towards providing adult hospice at home services in West Cumbria and support for patients with life limiting illnesses, as well as their families and those close to them.
