Public toilets could be returning to Whitehaven as a council owned property has been identified.
The building on Kings Street has been identified for the public toilets.

Kells and Sandwith Councillor Emma Williamson, Councillor Joseph Ghayouba and Whitehaven and Workington MP Josh MacAlister have ask for the public toilet to be included on Whitehaven Town Council’s agenda for its next meeting.
This is due to the Town Council needing to agree to fund the ongoing maintenance of the public toilets.
Whitehaven and Workington MP Josh MacAlister said: “Councillor Emma Williamson for Kells and Sandwith has done stellar work driving this forward at Cumberland Council.
“A council-owned property on King Street has now been identified as the location and Emma is committed to securing the capital funding needed to get the toilets installed.
“What we now need is a similar commitment from Whitehaven Town Council to fund the ongoing maintenance costs, in line with many other town and parish councils who run public toilets.
“The town council meets on Monday and Emma, Councillor Joseph Ghayouba and I have asked for this to be on the agenda as part of their budget discussions.
“I’d love to see these up and running next year and will keep doing what I can to make it happen.”
