Cumbria Police deployed firearms officers after an incident in Workington which resulted in two arrested.
The incident took place on Windsor Road, Workington overnight and into the morning on Saturday October 4, and Sunday 5.
Police were alerted at around 11pm (23:00) to an address on Windsor Road with reports entry had been forced by two people in possession of a knife.
A police response was immediately launched following the report with firearms officers deployed as part of the response.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “Two people, a man and a woman both in their twenties, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
“No injuries were caused but threats were made.
“They remain in custody.
“There is no wider risk to the public and police would like to thank the local community who were affected for their patience and understanding in allowing us to safely resolve the incident.”
