Essence Wellness has raised £803.65 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria through a special fundraising event.
The event, called ‘Pay What You Can’ day, invited customers to access a range of wellness treatments and pay whatever amount they could afford.

All proceeds from the day were donated directly to the local charity.
Gemma Hornsby-Lofthouse, owner of Essence Wellness, said the idea was about making wellness accessible while supporting a cause close to her heart.
“We wanted to give our customers the opportunity to experience our services, even if they might not usually be able to afford them,” she said.
“It was important to us that this wasn’t about profit, but about giving back.
“Hospice at Home West Cumbria was the natural choice for support, they’ve been there for both my grandparents and my husband’s family in the past, and it means a lot to us to fundraise for such a wonderful cause.”
Essence Wellness offers a variety of treatments including floatation therapy, red light therapy, lymphatic drainage, and other holistic services aimed at promoting relaxation, recovery, and overall wellbeing.
The centre also works with experienced practitioners to deliver complementary therapies tailored to individual needs.
Jessica Woolaghan, Partnerships and Fundraising Co-ordinator at Hospice at Home West Cumbria, expressed her gratitude: “We are very grateful for the support of local businesses like Essence Wellness.
“Their generosity helps us continue providing vital care and support to people in our community.
“We’d like to thank Gemma and her team, as well as everyone who took part in the event.
“We look forward to working together again in the future.”
