Wearside League: Reduced fixture list played as Windscale AFC beaten at home

In a reduced Wearside League schedule Egremont based Windscales AFC were beaten at home.

With high-scoring matches across the board, the Wearside League once again showcased its competitive edge, and early-season form is already beginning to take shape as teams jostle for position in their respective divisions.

Premier Division

Barnard Castle enjoyed a dominant afternoon as they brushed aside Silksworth Colliery Welfare with a 4–0 victory.

Elsewhere, South Moor continued their strong start to the campaign, recording a fine 3–1 win away at Windscale AFC with Josh Wise on target for The Atoms.

First Division

Coundon & Leeholme edged past Darlington FC Youth U23s with a narrow 2–1 victory on the road, while Shildon Railway secured a hard-fought 1–0 success against FC Hartlepool Reserves.

Second Division

There were goals galore in the Second Division, led by Crook Town Youth’s emphatic 7–2 triumph over Washington Reserves.

Newton Aycliffe YFC Senior also impressed, overcoming Wingate AFC 4–2. Hilda Park and Consett Blackfyne played out a 1–1 draw in the day’s tightest encounter.

Third Division

The biggest scoreline of the weekend came in the Third Division where Consett Reserves produced a stunning attacking display to dismantle Shotton Colliery Reserves 11–1. South Moor Reserves also enjoyed a strong showing with a 4–1 win against Deerness Valley Reserves, while Spennymoor Town Youth edged a seven-goal thriller 4–3 against Chester Le Street United.
