‘Our Year 11 students should be incredibly proud of themselves’ as St Bees pupils collect IGCSE results

St Bees School is celebrating the achievements of its Year 11 students following the release of the 2025 IGCSE examination results.

The outcomes reflect the school’s commitment to developing resilient learners who grow in both academic and character ambition throughout their St Bees journey.

Headmaster Mr Andrew Keep commented: “Our Year 11 students should be incredibly proud of themselves.

“These results highlight not just their academic abilities, but also the resilience and ambition they have demonstrated over the past two years.

“What is most encouraging is the progress many individuals have made — turning potential into achievement.

“These IGCSEs are a springboard into Sixth Form, and I have every confidence they will thrive in the next stage of their education.”

This year’s students have achieved:

  • 76 percent of all grades at A–C*, maintaining the strong standard seen in 2024.
  • Significant value-added progress across many subjects, with students often exceeding their predicted outcomes.
  • Standout individual successes, with two thirds ofstudents securing A* and A grades.

The school is particularly proud of the way students have shown determination and focus, with many improving markedly on their personal targets.

These results demonstrate that academic achievement at St Bees, alongside achieving headline grades, is also about maximising individual potential, ensuring that every student moves forward with confidence.

Many of the Year 11 students will now continue into St Bees’ dynamic and internationally focused Sixth Form, where they will build upon this strong foundation as they embark on A Level study, whilst others have secured impressive apprenticeship schemes.

With its innovative Fusion Curriculum and global outlook, St Bees School continues to offer an environment where students are empowered to think critically, challenge themselves, and pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

As they look ahead to Sixth Form, the school extends its warmest congratulations to the students and heartfelt thanks to the staff and families who have supported them throughout their journey.
