Man, 54, dies after being found unconscious on Skiddaw

A man has died after being found unconscious on Skiddaw.

Keswick Mountain Rescue was called out at 9:58am on Tuesday, August 14, after reports a man had collapsed on Skiddaw.

The man was unconscious near the summit of Little Man.

A Helimed 58 was deployed but due to low cloud was unable to land any where near to the man.

Keswick team arrived while CPR was underway by passing walkers and team members continued the resuscitation effort.

When the cloud lifted the Coastguard helicopter delivered paramedics to the scene

However, despite best efforts, the 54-year-old man died.

A spokesperson for Keswick Mountain Rescue said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the man’s family and friends.”
