The Bluebirds have announced the signing of Rhys Healey on loan from Huddersfield Town until January.
Healey joins Barrow AFC from League One side Huddersfield, and while with The Bluebirds, he will wear the vacant number nine shirt.
Speaking about his move to Barrow, he said: “It literally [happened] in the space of three or four hours last night.
“I was just sitting there with my family, and the next minute, I was ready to make my way up here.
“But the quicker it gets done, the better for me so I can just get straight into it.”
The 30-year-old striker began his career in Wales, featuring for Welsh Premier League side Connah’s Quay Nomads before being snapped up by Cardiff City at the age of 18.
While with The Bluebirds, he made his Premier League debut in 2014, coming on as a substitute during a game against Chelsea.
The following season, the 5ft10 forward gained more experience out on loan with Colchester United, contributing towards six goals in 24 games.
Across the following two years, further loan spells at Dundee FC and Newport County followed, and it was while back in Wales that he really caught form, firing home seven goals and two assists in 23 outings.
Healey was again loaned out to Newport during the first half of the 2016/17 season, before returning to Cardiff in January 2017.
He bagged his first goal for The Bluebirds just two weeks after returning to Neil Warnock’s side, when he netted a late winner against Burton Albion.
After a handful of first-team appearances at Cardiff, the forward again went out on a couple of loan spells, to Torquay United and MK Dons.
A combined 14 goals in just 26 league games followed before he made a permanent move to MK in the summer of 2019.
Another successful spell at Stadium MK followed for Healey, with him bagging a further 12 goals in just 21 outings.
The following summer, Healey made the bold decision to join Toulouse in the French second tier.
During his first season in France, he bagged 15 goals, firing his side into the play-offs, but it was the following season where he’ll best be remembered in Toulouse after he notched 22 goals, pushing his side to promotion to Ligue 1, alongside clinching the golden boot.
After three years in France, Healey returned to England, enjoying a short spell at Watford in the Championship before signing for Huddersfield in January 2024.
The Bluebirds will be hoping to get their first win of the season when they welcome Notts County to The SO Legal Stadium on Saturday, August 16.
