St Bees School is delighted to announce an impressive set of achievements by its Sixth Form students in the 2025 A-Level examinations, with many progressing to leading universities across the UK and abroad.
Headmaster Mr Andrew Keep shared his pride in the cohort’s success, stating: “It has been a tough year, and standards continue to rise.
“But we are immensely pleased with students who have achieved their goals and university destinations.”
The results reflect the perseverance, resilience and academic excellence that St Bees encourages throughout its Sixth Form programme.
Students have shown remarkable dedication to their studies and personal development, even in the face of a rapidly evolving academic landscape.
This year, 67 percent of A-Level grades were at A*-B, a huge jump from 49 percent in 2024 and the highest in recent years.
The proportion of A*-A grades also rose to 37 percent, up from 31 percent last year.
These results represent outstanding progress compared to students’ initial baseline assessments.
Across the board, students exceeded predicted grades, with many achieving one or more grades higher than forecast, a testament to their hard work, the dedication of our teaching staff and the school’s supportive learning environment.
The results confirm a consistent upward trend since 2022, demonstrating the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
This year’s cohort is heading to some of the UK’s top universities, including the University of Edinburgh, the University of Lancaster, the University of Manchester and Loughborough University.

Special recognition goes to William, reading Mathematics at the University of Manchester; Andrii reading Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh; Raven (lreading Business Management at the University of Lancaster; Suproto reading Natural Sciences at Loughborough University; and Johan with top results is now exploring options in the UK and abroad.
St Bees School attributes this success not only to its students’ efforts but also to the support provided by its committed teaching staff and the invaluable encouragement from families.
The school’s holistic approach to education fosters both academic excellence and personal growth.
As these young people prepare to take their next steps, St Bees School wishes them every success in their university studies and future careers.
