Cumbria Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian on Lonsdale Street, Carlisle at the bus station.

A woman in her 70s was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by Air Ambulance.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police has described her as in a critical condition.
